Describe the bug

I can't seem to verify my sessions between iOS clients. Whichever flow I try I always get "The other party cancelled the verification" on one client, and on the other I get "The verification has been cancelled. Reason: The device received an unexpected message", even though I haven't asked it to cancel anything.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. On iPhone app go to Settings -> Security
  2. Select session of other device (in my case it's an iPad Tablet that I want to verify)
  3. Get a message saying "You should complete security on your current session first" . Press OK.
  4. Tablet receives verification request, say Accept
  5. QR code appears on tablet (this is a bit confusing to me, see expected behaviour). Select 'can't scan' to bring up emoji screen.
  6. Popup boxes immediately appears on both devices (see screenshots below) before getting a chance to compare emojis

Same thing also happens when doing the same process initiated by the other device.

I've tried deleting all the apps and logging into them all again. The same issue arises, sadly.

Expected behavior

I expect to be able to compare emojis and confirm a session as trusted.

"Scan the code below to verify" appears on tablet but the iPhone is still stuck on "Verify this session from one of your other sessions" screen. This is quite confusing because there is no option to scan the QR code using the iPhone.

Same here! Verification of the same account on two iPhones.
