Space can join.

What happened instead?

I'm getting reports from this for users that are on iOS trying to join my space. I am not seeing this on my android phone or desktop.

As mentioned in #6683, this appears to be an issue for regular rooms too, e.g. a message with the following room aliases in:
#signalfoundation:matrix.org
#securemessagingapps:matrix.org
