FAQ

The following is a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) list.

1. What is GUT-AI Initiative?

Read about it on About.

2. Does GUT-AI Foundation promote Open-Source?

YES! GUT-AI Foundation is 100% an Open-Source First organization. Its vision, mission and business model are such that the Foundation will always remain 100% Open-Source First. More details in the Whitepaper.

3. Does GUT-AI rely on only one or a few Blockchain networks?

No, not at all. The Free and Open-Source Software produced, promoted or enabled by the Foundation, and also the Foundation itself, are entirely Blockchain-agnostic.

4. Have you issued your own crypto coin?

Not yet, but we are planning to. An additional whitepaper (or lightpaper) will be released about the new crypto coin, called AGI (placeholder name). And before we do that, we want to engage the community and receive feedback. This is why we have released the Whitepaper of the Foundation. More details there.

5. Will the software be restricted only to AI solutions?

No, the software will also include open-source business growth tools (like CRM, CMS, E-commerce platforms) with full interoperability to AI plugins in order to solve real-world, practical problems in the industry (and also everyday life). It will also include the implementation of a decentralized Marketplace for products and services offered by third-party Freelancers in order to provide holistic and customized solutions to businesses and individuals alike. More details in the Whitepaper.

6. On the network side, how do you deal with Sybil attacks and consensus?

Good question. Similar to Bitcoin, it is dealt by Game Theory, thus making Sybil attacks financially expensive and also difficult to execute successfully. The consensus mechanism of AGI utility token is a hybrid PoW and PoS mechanism. It is very similar to Proof of Activity (PoA), which has already been verified to work in practice with Decred coin. More details in the Whitepaper.

7. Is GUT-AI Initiative and GUT-AI Foundation one and the same?

No, not at all. The purpose of GUT-AI Foundation is to have a supportive role, while acting as a catalyst in order to accelerate GUT-AI Initiative, but without interfering with the decentralized nature of the whole initiative. In other words, GUT-AI Foundation is merely a pure subset of GUT-AI Initiative. An unlimited number of individuals, projects, foundations, companies and other organizations anywhere on the planet can join the Initiative in an unrestricted way. There is no authorization or permission needed (or granted) in order to join the Initiative, as explained in Q9. Anyone joining the Initiative is automatically a participant to the GUT-AI Ecosystem.

8. Is GUT-AI Foundation and GUT-AI Network one and the same?

No, not at all. In order to join the Foundation, you will need to purchase its dedicated governance token. In order to participate in the Network, you will need to buy the AGI utility token, as explain in Q10. Crucially, the Network and the Foundation have distinct, independent and completely unrelated governance systems with one another. In other words, utility token holders do not influence the Network in any way, and likewise, governance token holders do not influence the Foundation in any way. More details in the Whitepaper.

9. Do I need a permission or some kind of membership to join GUT-AI Initiative?

No, absolutely not. There is no authorization or permission needed (or granted) in order to join the Initiative, since it is entirely permissionless. Just use the logo of GUT-AI Initiative (not of the Foundation) if you want to signal to others that you have joined the Initiative. That's it. You are good to go. Also, you do need to be a member of the GUT-AI Foundation, since the Foundation is merely a pure subset of the GUT-AI Initiative, as explained in Q7. You can be any individual or organization on the planet and still join the Initiative. There is no formal process to join. Zero formalities, zero bureaucracy.

10. Do I need a permission or some kind of membership to join GUT-AI Network?

No, absolutely not. Once GUT-AI Network is up and running, you will just need to purchase its AGI utility token in the open market (DEX, CEX or anywhere else). Also, you do need to be a member of GUT-AI Foundation, since the Network and the Foundation have distinct, independent and completely unrelated governance systems with one another, as explained in Q8. Additionally, more than one foundations can be active in the Network on an equal basis with the Foundation, which will have no "special privileges" within the Network. You can be any individual or organization on the planet and still be a participant in the Network. Zero restrictions, zero inequalities.

11. Do the Co-Founders or Genesis users of the Foundation get any "special privileges"?

No, not at all. Neither Co-Founders nor Genesis users get any "special privileges", but each one of them is something like primus inter pares (i.e. first among equals). This ensures that all subsequent governance token holders who will join later on will not be disadvantaged in any way.

12. Is GUT-AI leaderless?

No, not at all. On the contrary, both GUT-AI Foundation and GUT-AI Initiative are 'leaderfull'.

13. Does any of your content have any Copyright or Copyleft?

No, absolutely not. Unless otherwise stated, all content is available under Creative Commons Zero CC0 1.0 Universal (Public Domain). You can use it freely (libre) and free of charge (gratis). No permission needed. No need to ask anyone for anything. Keep in mind, though, that GUT-AI Initiative includes, or it's compatible with, multiple projects, each with its own license and potential restrictions.

14. Can I fork this project?

YES! We actually welcome it. Feel free to make as many forks of this project as you like. No permission needed. No need to ask anyone for anything.

15. Will GUT-AI Foundation be making money out of this?

Yes, it will. GUT-AI Foundation will be generating revenue by following the Open-Source Business Model, thus offering a combination of Hosting, Maintenance, Professional Services, Customized Functionalities, a Marketplace, etc. This is already being used successfully by many other Free and Open-Source projects (such as Nextcloud, WordPress, Databricks, Red Hat, OpenProject and XWiki). The revenue is absolutely necessary in order to ensure both the survival of the Foundation, and also the accelerated growth of the Free and Open-Source Software offered to the community. More details in the Whitepaper.
