unknown trigger conditions - tooltips occasionally flicker

Describe the bug
Occasionally a rendering error happens with the tooltips causing them to flicker. I do not know what is causing this so it's difficult to reproduce.

The bug vanishes as soon as the cursor is moved outside of the current gui element that was gproducing a rendering issue.
