VC++ 4 is a little crashy, and it seems it's in CRT code - I suspect we should be using a static C/C++ library
NT 4 works if you remove the libgit2 version code and remove the flags from utf-conv.c

VC++4 doubles up files from SccPopulateList, smells like a host bug
