Add a variation of an IF statement for verification if element appear

There is a situation where I need to do extra click ONLY if some message is displayed. It might appear and might not. What I need is basically an IF statement without asserting the actual numbers of elements. I tried
When I find $comparisonRule $number elements by $locator and for each element do$stepsToExecute
and
When I find $comparisonRule $number elements by $locator and for each element do$stepsToExecute
But they perform an assertion of elements by locator
