For those of you who would like to take part in the June meeting of the Web Components Community Group, please share your availability here as we work to schedule the right day/time to gather. Don't forget, all WCCG events are listed on this calendar. 📆

As a reminder, we chat between meetings in Discord, where we'd love to hear from you.

If there are other topics you'd like to discuss, breakouts you would already like to have scheduled, or anything else, please drop your thoughts in the comments below!

Thanks to everyone that was able to join in the call today. We wrapped 5 minutes early, but were still able to cover a wide variety of valuable topics. Check out the full notes here.

Take aways and action items:

  • @behowell is getting close to an approved CL in Chromium around the Reference Target work 🥳 @dandclark will likely be picking up follow ups in this area after that lands
  • @Westbrook is planning to add some additional WPTs for this, so keep an eye out on Discord if you want to join in on a hacking session to bring that shows browser how they are broken (I mean not shipping a yet to be released API 😉)
  • @michaelwarren1106 and @justinfagnani are both interested in Scope Custom Element Registries and willing to invest some amount of time to writing WPTs for the upcoming API, so hit them up if you want in on the fun
  • We dipped out toes in the conversation around the explosion of great tooling in the community, but will likely have a follow up breakout on this topic where tooling devs can show us their plans more fully
  • @sashafirsov will be sharing an issue/proposal around surfacing a schema for cross HTML/CSS/JS/SVG things
  • The Edge team is looking to revisit declarative CSS Modules, hopefully we'll have some issues/proposals to share soon
  • The styling breakout will come later next month of so, in light of the prioritization of Reference Target and Scoped Registries
  • TPAC kick-off scheduling in on going, share your availability.

See you next time! 👋🏼

as a newcomer to standards work, the sheer amount of repos, issues, and PR is that all have bits and pieces of proposals very daunting haha
