It doesn't look like this repo is maintain anymore so in case it helps anyone, I've upgraded to Swift 4, did some refactoring, and even fallback to Apple MapKit if Google Places fails (like for throttling, usage limits, etc): shmidt/GooglePlacesSearchController#15
