I'm not able to duplicate this issue. I can upload an APK > 2mb successfully. |
Get 2.8 mb exe PUA sample (size changes) from seegame-hoome(dot)info/tus4?q= Upload/submit fails with "Request Timeout Reference #2.7d6b473a.1472616755.497c1ab" My upload speed still 840 kbps |
Hi @webcompatreport. Thanks for filing this bug and welcome to webcompat.com! I followed your instructions exactly and did not experience a problem uploading the file. Unfortunately if we can't reproduce the issue it's very difficult to determine the root cause of it. Does this issue happen when you use another browser to upload the file? |
I think it's my connection. I tried using a connection with 8-10 Mbps upload speed and no issues. According to speedtest.net my upload speed is 0.81 Mbps. That link now gives a 3.5 mb exe and I still get same time-out error when I try to submit to MMPC. Can someone pls contact MMPC or Microsoft to change how their submit form works? After browsing for a file, the upload should start and indicate progress similar to how "analysis.avira.com" works. Currently, it uploads and submits form at same time only after clicking Submit. |
Thanks for the welcome! I tried in Edge on Win 10 x64 and I still get same time-out error. I tried uploading a 3 mb zip (bios). |
@webcompatreport we are happy to have you contributing. :) For this project we try to focus our effort on layouts, features or content that works as expected in one browser but not in another. I'm going to close this report as invalid but have sent a message to MMPC on Twitter. Thanks again! 👍 |
I'm trying to upload an 8.54 mb file and it still times-out! 8.50 mb when inside 7z. Sample: https://storage_googleapis_com/ss-installers/windows/1.17.1/TotalAV.exe I get: Request Timeout Reference #2.756b473a.1477019372.326ec99 My upload speed is 581 Kbps 73 kB/s per testmy.net :( |
With tracker protection (basic) enabled, 1 break space = becames 2 break space :(! See my post above. |
@webcompatreport I just tried uploading this file from Taiwan and it worked no problem. If we can't reproduce the issue, then this is out of our control. I know Microsoft hasn't been helpful for you in the past, but we won't have luck pushing this issue either, without being able to reproduce. |
Hello @adamopenweb ! Have you limited your upload speed similar to mine? They need to increase their connection time out since my upload speed is so slow! But it's so hard to get in touch with MMPC webmaster. MMPC is so unresponsive. :( |
URL: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/security/portal/submission/submit.aspx
Browser / Version: Firefox 48.0
Operating System: Windows Vista
Problem type: Something else - I'll add details below
Steps to Reproduce
Expected Behavior: Upload sample without time-out
Actual Behavior: Form always times-out during upload of file that's over 1 or 2 mb in size!
My upload speed is 840 kbps per speedof.me test. I have no issue submitting huge files using Avira's sample form so it's not my dsl's wifi! Pls contact Microsoft about this.
I'm having this issue since 2007. Tsk.
