commonvoice.mozilla.org - recorded audio stutters #63891
Comments
Thanks for the report, but I'm not able to reproduce the issue. For me the sound is clear. I spoke and recorded the 5 sentences and after I listened to them. Tested with: @Vanco-Mycen could you try clearing cache/data/cookies, or use a clean profile, and check again? |
Have you tried replaying a recording before you've recorded all five, or re-recording? This for me is consistently where the problem starts. If I go and record all five without replaying or re-recording, it's fine. |
@yaomtc, at first I did record all five and then replay them. Tested with: Are you able to share de recording, maybe I'm missing something? |
It's still happening for me. I think it actually occurs from re-recording, not from replaying. Recording #5 only sounded like that after I re-recorded. I will test again. screen-20210206-114845_1.mp4 |
I had a hell of a time trying to screen capture more with audio successfully attached, so I gave up and just recorded it with my tablet's camera. https://mega.nz/file/2dEX0YDY#RalK1V8eFFADqIsu2GlB4fRI_FjRKgVE9k_Ck9Xu_M8 Worth mentioning that often this issue doesn't happen until a good number of re-records. This clip starts from scratch. |
Thanks for the extra info, I understand the problem now, unfortunately I still can't reproduce it on my side. Tested with: @yaomtc could you try with a clean profile? Does the behavior reproduce on Chrome? Meanwhile while testing on Firefox Nightly I found an issue related to "recording replay", it stops after a few seconds on Firefox. I reported the issue #67243 |
I just did this on a fresh install of Firefox Beta, and was able to reproduce it. On Vanadium (Chromium-based browser that comes with GrapheneOS) I'm not able to get any repeating, but there is some crackling. It doesn't make the audio unintelligible, though. I'll get a capture of that. |
I suppose this could be an issue I need to report to GrapheneOS / the maintainer for the Pixel 4a. https://mega.nz/file/2dEX0YDY#RalK1V8eFFADqIsu2GlB4fRI_FjRKgVE9k_Ck9Xu_M8 |
I see, thanks for the info, we'll give a few more tries on our side too @softvision-raul-bucata could you also check on your device with Firefox Daylight or Beta? @yaomtc if you can come up with an exact pattern/steps to reproduce (recorded 1st text, then replayed it and recorded again and replayed it, then moved to the next text) that would also be useful, but it also could be related to the mobile device used for testing it too. |
@softvision-oana-arbuzov I could not reproduce the issue on my side. Audio recordings are clear, with no crackling or stutters. The result is the same after replaying a recording before recording all fives or re-recording audio. Tested with: |
