The stylesheet for colorizing the code is not currently loaded in AMP Reader mode template.

This should probably wait until the entire templates are sent through the post-processor so that we get tree-shaking: ampproject/amp-wp#2202

That being said, the default.css stylesheet is only 1.2KB, so it's not a big deal.

This is now supported automatically by AMP plugin v1.5+, as any block styles will automatically be added to the Reader mode template:
