Negating Limit Automatic Linking does not work as intended

Hello,

Trying to negate a Automatic Link Generation by putting a ! infront of PageTitle, instead it outputs
!PageTitle

instead of
PageTitle

The other ways to negate works, it only seems to be a problem when trying to negate with "!" charachter.

I tried other containerized moinmoin 1.9 versions and there it seems to work fine, not sure why there is a problem with this package?

Reported upstream. Does not work with PyPy but works fine with regular CPython.
