Keyboard repeats characters

When I open the keyboard to type something, I get erratic behavior where sometimes the keyboard repeats characters.

Example: I just typed "hello world" into the keyboard, and the TV shows "helllloo woorldd".

Normal case when keyboard does not repeat a character:

Case where it does repeat a character:

How do you even get it to send from the keyboard? It doesnt work for me.

I just press the keyboard button whenever there's a entry field on the screen. Maybe open a separate issue if that isn't working for you.
