Clearing a field entirely

Description

Clearing a field entirely currently leaves us with a paragraph and line break. I need to be able to clear it entirely.

I am not sure if this is already possible somehow, but I haven't come across it.

I propose being able to clear the field entirely by pressing backspace/delete once more on an already empty field. This behavior could be by default or through an options flag.

Steps to reproduce

1. Navigate to the demo page
2. Select all of the text
3. Press backspace/delete
4. Inspect the editable field in DevTools and and note the <p><br></p>.
