Readme example: not able to select from dropdown, stuck in loop #3

Just wanted to give this module a try, but the example from the readme seems to get stuck in an event loop. The page is re-rendering constantly, leaving me unable to select/type anything in the input box.

thanks for posting the issue. shiny has probably changed since i last looked at this repository
