Installed via Homebrew, in case that matters. "About Meld" shows version 3.21.0.osx3.

Summary: Performing a 2-way folder comparison. After picking the first Folder it returns to the main window with File icon highlighted instead of Folder.

Steps to reproduce. From the main window select Folder:

Pick the desired folder and then click on the Open button. It goes back to the main menu and File icon is highlighted instead.

Click on the Folder icon and you'll see what I expect:
