Search project during user input

We've been tesing Zed as our daily driver over VS Code this week on my team. One of the most consistent gripes (admittedly small) we had was that you had to explicitly hit the Enter key in order to perform a search. We really like the fact that VS Code resolves search results as the user types (not waiting for explicit input to issue search).

Would it be a difficult ask, given the current architecture, to either:

1. Default to always searching the current project scope during user input
2. Introduce a new preference setting to enable the above

I took a look at existing settings and couldn't find anything that currently exists that would enable the above behavior. I also tried to find an existing issue describing this ask and couldn't but I'll happily close this out in favor of something preexisting.
