Issue Description

The 1Password browser extension fails to integrate with ZEN Browser, while functioning normally with other browsers. The extension shows a connection error in settings.

Environment

Current Behavior

  • Extension installs successfully
  • Unable to establish connection with main 1Password application
  • Settings page displays connection error
  • No integration functionality available

  • Full password management functionality should be available
  • Settings should show successful connection status

Additional Information

  • The extension works correctly with other browsers
  • Connection error is consistently present in settings
  • No error logs or specific error messages available at this time

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Install ZEN Browser
  2. Install 1Password browser extension from Mozilla Add-ons

Does the workaround in #4365 help?

I read this Issue and actually tried to reinstall the extension.
In this case, I can still use the 1password functionality by logging into my account.

That is not the issue I am defining this time.
I believe I wrote something like “1Password's desktop app does not work with the Zen Browser extension. I wrote... right?

I attached this, but I think this is happening because of a connection problem on the extension side.

In MacOS, I had to explicitly add an exception in the 1Password app to allow Zen's extension to connect to it. I made the change in Settings > Browser:

In Windows, the browser settings looked like this.
The reason it is in Japanese is because I am Japanese.

There is a check box for “Link apps to browser” and a button for “Add extension to browser”.

In other words, the Mac version does not have that setting! Damn!
I guess this problem will be solved by me buying a Mac, but that might annoy Windows users.
