Umineko: Character page buttons don't work correctly on Ep5 and ep6 / Right-click menu crashes on Ep6 [Voices-Only | Experimental Engine] #12
Comments
The user had the same issue on ep6, further more accessing the right click menu sometimes caused the game to crash. I tested ep6 myself on my Windows machine with the experimental exe (EDIT: I accidentally tested the NVL mode full patch, not voice-only, but later testing a psuedo voice-only mod didn't cause the crash. Perhaps further testing is required), and couldn't reproduce the same crashes (I think the game did crash while skipping once, though). So I suspect it's only experimental exe + Linux which has this issue. The user did some testing, and found only the experimental exe had the problem:

We had another report of the same issue:
Later they reported that re-installing fixed the issue
It may be possible that this issue only happens with voice-only + experimental exe. Since the experimental exe doesn't provide much benefit for voice-only users, just disabling users from using the experimental exe with voice-only may be a solution for now. |
I also noticed that someone reported this issue on the unmodded vanilla game. This is a little confusing, considering that changing back to the vanilla exe seems to fix the issue. See https://steamcommunity.com/app/639490/discussions/0/5946474365644826438/ For now I'm going to remove the experimental exe option for our voice-only mod, as it doesn't provide much benefit for voice-only users. I'll remove it for both Q and A, even though this issue seems to only affect the question arcs. |
