This is a @2i2c-org/tech-team sync 🎉🎉🎉! This is a way for 2i2c Team Members to triage work, point out issues that require attention, and make sure we are working well as a team. This issue will be closed at the end of the day.

• I'm thankful for @yuvipanda helping me onboard into projects and tech both technically and with encouragement!
• I'm thankful for @whyjz for helping me learn about scientific conferences and preparing for submission to make a talk/poster at an upcoming AGU conference!

Updates from last week ✔

• Z2JH 1.1.0 and 1.1.1 released with a feature to generate api_tokens and now has full arm64 compatibility, and BinderHub's no longer require setting an api_token.
• Misc onboarding, work, and use of yuvipanda/jupyterhub-ssh, jupyterhub/jupyter-remote-desktop-proxy
• I've spent time learning more about linux essentials, filesystems, NFS servers, and some more. My goal is to setup GitHub Actions runners to do work on seven raspberry pi computers for the JupyterHub org to make use of.

What I'm up to next ➡️

• Abstract submission to AGU
• Misc refinements of the JMTE deployment (dask labextension + dask-gateway issues)
• (private) Contributions to a k8s project about NFS storage that can help provide NFS storage and quotas for users: kubernetes-sigs/nfs-ganesha-server-and-external-provisioner. It is a piece of infrastructure generally relevant but hasn't been well maintained so no Helm chart is officially published etc.
• (private) Setup RPI4 based GitHub runners the JupyterHub org

Updates from last week ✔

• I had a mid-week nightmare with terraform and therefore started working on dynamically configuring backends for cases where multiple authentications are required. Terraform remote state backends: Dynamic configuration implementation and storage infrastructure#560
• Private nodes for the Pangeo/Columbia deployment are also generally giving me a headache
• I ran Zero-to-Binder for Digital Humanities researchers on Friday - they generally thought the project was super cool!

• Going to continue working towards private nodes and maybe try a different strategy Enabling private nodes for GKE clusters infrastructure#538

• Preparing some abstracts for AGU 2021 (Submit three AGU abstracts about Jupyter Book upstream#30)
• Writing up and making some proposals for team processes (Team practice for short-term planning and coordination #182)
• Support stewarding! (Define the Support Steward role #187)

• I'll be around until Wednesday, when I'm flying back to the States. Will try to get internet and work a bit on the plane but can't make promises. Will be working (though jetlagged) Thurs/Fri.
