The team of researchers at QIA investigates the interplay between Quantum and Intelligence. The quantum, especially in modalities of Q computation and Q information, is studied as the underlying automata and logic. Intelligence is studied as software running on the quantum substrate as a way to understand and use quantum systems better. These encompass applications like artificial general intelligence, reinforcement learning, quantum programming, causal inference, quantum machine learning, etc.
The Quantum Intelligence research team is currently an independent group of researchers. Between 2022-24, it was embedded and affiliated with the Quantum Machine Learning research group of the Quantum Computing division of QuTech. Between 2018-22, it was embedded and jointly affiliated with the erstwhile Quantum Computer Architecture research group of QuTech and the Accelerated Big Data Systems group at TU Delft.
