Element Editor: Checkboxes do not work any longer #1444

Steps to reproduce

Fire up the dummy app, add an EssenceBoolean and try changing the check box's state.

Expected behavior

The check boxes state should change.

Actual behavior

The check box does not change state. 😿

The culprit seems to be this event handler:

System configuration

Alchemy Version: current master
Rails Version: 5.2
