I see your dashboard tabs are blanked out; are you sure you're not on the "For you" feed? Just because the "Following" tab is your pinned tab does not necessarily mean that is the one loaded on https://www.tumblr.com/dashboard, since it will default to your last-used tab. Try going to https://www.tumblr.com/dashboard/following to see if your issues continue. (This is why we don't offer an option to hide that piece of the UI, for the record...) |

Hello! It's strange because sometimes these blogs that I am not following will appear and once I refresh my dashboard, they are gone but later on in the day when I go back to my dashboard, these blogs that I am not following will reappear. I checked following tab and it was pinned so I unpinned and repinned it. Hopefully that fixes it but if not, I may have to use that link you offered from now on. This is what my settings look like at the moment. Everything else is the same.

Yes, I've noticed recently that even though I have the Following tab
pinned, some types of navigations (clicking on the "Home" menu item?) take
me to the For You page. I assume that's what's happening to you as well

I don't know what's going on here, but the uptick in users saying they're getting recommended posts unexpectedly has been huge after the Tumblr TV tab change, not the "always return to my most recently used tab" page change as I'd have expected, and I have to assume that where there's smoke, there's fire. But I don't really have any good ideas why those things would be related, and users for some reason can't seem to wrap their head around telling me what tumblr tab is highlighted when it happens :D What Nightpool suggested could be it, but why would that be happening? I haven't been on Tumblr too much today but I can confirm that the issue was not fixed. I may have to start using the link AprilSlyph provided but unpinning and repinning my "following" tab did not help. Below is a screenshot of when I just looked at my dash. There's a blog that I am following at the top but right below is another blog I am not following. Also I noticed that the post from the blog that I am following was from ten hours ago when the one that I am not following was from 3 hours ago. Refreshing put a post from a blog that I do follow from 18 minutes ago. So that's messed up too.

You're definitely on https://www.tumblr.com/dashboard/following when you're seeing these posts from people you don't follow? I'm a little confused because your screenshots keep not showing that the tabs even exist, which is weird to me -- that is, the words "Following", "For You", etc are not shown to the left of the config button that chooses the tabs. I did some messing around and tl;dr these seem to be acting independently of one another. I have Following set as my pinned tab. Normally if I go to https://www.tumblr.com/dashboard/ it forwards me to https://www.tumblr.com/dashboard/following and that is what the Home link leads to. But if I choose to click on For You (https://www.tumblr.com/dashboard/stuff_for_you), then that seems to stick regardless of the chosen pinned tab: If I close the browser tab or navigate away and then load https://www.tumblr.com/dashboard/ again, I get For You, and the Home link is still changed to point to https://www.tumblr.com/dashboard/stuff_for_you. Manually clicking Following changes it back the way I want it to be. By the same token, if I choose to pin For You, it switches order to being the first tab, but which one is displayed still sticks on Following if that was the last one I accessed. In any case, as far as I can tell, https://www.tumblr.com/dashboard/following correctly contains only posts from people I follow. |

Oh, I apologize. I had a different independent extension that hid all of that (Old Tumblr Dashboard (Userstyle) by pixiel on Tumblr). I disabled that just now. Right now it seems to be working okay but what I'm hearing is I just need to avoid clicking on "For you" at all and/or always use https://tumblr.com/dashboard/following. Here is what everything looks like now that I disabled the independent extension. Thank you for being so patient with me and again, I apologize for the confusion with the separate extension.

You still appear to be using something that's hiding the tab bar—it might be a user style or a UBlock Origin custom rule (e.g. from the element zapper). The latest versions of pixiel's style don't break this! If you fix that you should be able to make use of all of the available tabs without errors. |

So I just updated pixiel's style from 16.8 to 16.9 and I did some messing around. My Google Chrome shortcut direct to Tumblr.com/(blogname) and when I click on that to go to my blog and then go to the dashboard, I have issues with blogs I do not follow appearing. Going to tumblr.com directly through the address bar seems fine. Weird but that's what I seem to be running into. I appreciate the help! |

Hello, this problem only started recently. I suspect its part of/caused by the new "communities" update that Tumblr recently instilled but I am uncertain. Recently, people that I do not follow have started appearing on my dashboard. I have everything on "no recommended" checked, I have users I am following pinned, and nothing is checked in my settings that would cause this. What is possibly causing this and how can I fix it? Thank you.
