This config is focused on optimal experience through gameplay. It works with every computer that can run the game by default, but at the same time it will improve the frame rate and improve the in-game advantages.
Everything inside this config is documented, analyzed, tested and there is no misconcepted command/value. It isn't based on guesses, misleading community thoughts or guides, but rather on well-documented sources, the game's source code and on my vast experience through Valve's Source games.
The config is often updated with new commands (when Valve releases a new version), new features (like scripts) and it is sometimes rewritten in some parts for a better template. If there is a critical bug, I'll notice it immediately and patch it.
ArminC AutoExec evolved out from my desire to do something special, in 2015, after seeing that there isn't a good config and most of them were full of nonsense, deciding that I need to write my own one. First, I analyzed the entire community, I've documented myself (I wanted to expand my existing knowledge) and I searched for good templates. So, I started to write it. I rewrote it many times from scratch until I reached a good template and since then, ArminC AutoExec continued to evolve and mature. Today this config is mature, well written and optimized.
At a first look it doesn't seem like something unprecedented but, after the effort spent on this project, I can only think on the contrary.
ArminC AutoExec is designed with the following features:
- Optimize the network values, using all the available capacity.
- Help the player by making available very useful scripts.
- Documenting the user about the commands; all of them are commented.
- Has well-selected values, enabling every in-game advantage.
- No misconceived commands and values; it's professionally analyzed.
In the entire community, there are a lot of configs pretending to solve the lag and boost the frame rate. That's very wrong! The majority of them use deprecated commands, blocked commands (via sv_cheats), or even commands that do not exist anymore or have never existed. Even worse, they use randomly or misconfiguredly selected values in high-importance commands.
ArminC AutoExec tries to fix all these community flaws and nonsense by making some different from others.
ArminC AutoExec works by:
- Giving recommendations and opinions for the most important commands.
- Providing a nice and clean style of writing. Pleasing to the eye.
- Using well-known sources and deep analysis, no misleading.
- Optimized for easy editing by user preferences.
- Optimized template, well categorized.
- Protected against the game's automatic changes, the configs are separated.
