Bug Description:

"Payment Request button" feature fails to work.

Test Instructions:

Environment:

Woocommerce Version : WooCommerce 5.1
WordPress version: (v5.7)

PC:
Windows 10, Mac 10.14.6
Chrome(Version 88.0.4324.104)

Prerequisites:

  1. WooCommerce Payments 2.1.0 or later is installed.
  2. A credit card added to chrome://settings/payments. It can be a Stripe test card: 4242 4242 4242 4242, any cardholder name, valid expiration date and CVV will work.
  3. Use the following snippet: update_option( '_wcpay_feature_payment_request', 'yes' ); in the Code Snippet plugin.
  4. Once you have the _wcpay_feature_payment_request option set to yes, you should be able to see a "Payment Request Button" setting under WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > WooCommerce Payments. Make sure it's enabled.

Steps To Reproduce:

  1. Create any test site using JN site.
  2. Install and activate all the required plugins
  3. Skip the onboarding setup wizard.
  4. Add some Products.
  5. Go to Shop page on frontend.
  6. Visit to any of the Product page.
  7. Click on "Add to cart" button.
  8. Go to "Cart" page.
  9. Observe that "Pay now" button fails to appear on cart page.

Actual Result:

"Payment Request button" feature fails to work.

Expected Result:

"Payment Request button" feature should get reflect on Cart page.

Isolating the problem (mark completed items with an [x]):

  • I have deactivated other plugins and confirmed this bug occurs when only WooCommerce plugin is active.
  • This bug happens with a default WordPress theme active, or Storefront.
  • I can reproduce this bug consistently using the steps above.

I've just tried from the website in the video and the button shows up for me.

The button may not work if you don't have a credit card properly configured in chrome://settings/payments. Can you also send a screenshot of chrome://settings/payments with the Stripe test card?

We have checked this issue again by configuring payment settings in chrome and now we are able to see the "Buy now" option on the Cart page. Thanks!!

Closing this one since the issue was with Chrome settings.
@ricardo could you please double check if required Chrome settings params are specified correctly in testing instructions?
