parsing exception might be thrown due to various of reasons for example response does not contain some expected keys, like scope or token_type, or some property has unexpected type.
also I would better use missing token than null token

Just updated the message to "Invalid or missing token, could not parse". That should convey more clearly that the exception was caused by some token parsing issue.
