Support for internationalisation

Hi,
It would be great to have support for internationalisation. I would be happy to help test the plugin, contribute to translations and, if needed, coordinate the translation work

Hi, thanks for the pointers!
I'm native French and a very fluent Italian speaker. I might be able to draft something fair enough in Spanish and Portuguese. More importantly, I'm about to recruit a (polyglott) Russian trainee for a few weeks and I think this could be both useful to have the plugin in Russian and interesting for her to discover i18n.
What is the preferred workflow? Is Transifex or similar website supported? Or is it better to fire Qt Linguist? Or is it enough to create a .ts file with a text editor, using CKANBrowser_en.ts as a blueprint?

That sounds great.

One caveat though: the plugin is going to be upgraded to QGIS 3.x soon-ish (probably next 2 to 4 months).
Not sure yet how much will change during that transition and if it makes sense to do a translation of the existing code base and refine afterwards or wait till after the upgrade.

What is the preferred workflow?

A PR here in the repo.
We've been using QT Linguist.

I'm in the final stages of preparing a release for QGIS 3.x within the next 2 to 3 weeks - this time for real.

@4estone sorry, totally missed your message.
Let me know if you are still interested in translating the updates for 3.x to French so we can coordinate.

@mayeulk sorry, it's been over a year, but it took some time to get going.
Let me know if you are still interested in translating to Italian (and/or French in case @4estone is not available)

French is less effort as @4estone already contributed French translation for the previous version

Now there are two volunteers for French 😊

Maybe you @4estone could do French and @mayeulk you could do Italian - even if it's not on your priority list, when can do an update later.
