Engineering Status

Execution

The team is working on fourth weekly sprint of 1.2.0 release cycle (Sprint 13.4). Release 1.2.0 marks the second production upgrade of the Casper protocol. The top priority is to keep Mainnet (casper network) and Testnet (capser-test network) stable.

The goal of 1.2.0 release is to prepare a patch for casper network with the second round of sustainability features:

  • Context state improvements
  • Network stability enhancements
  • Deploy processing stabilization
  • Event stream enhancements

Release

Tag v1.1.1 with Rust node was cut on 19 April 2021.

Mainnet - Casper Network

Casper Network started on March 31th. Current status on cpsr.live for casper Block Height: 43377 with 50 Validators

Current Focus

Performance, hardening, and production engineering work.

Highway

  • Exclude inactive validators from the leader sequence.

Node - Rust

  • Authenticate with validator key when connecting.
  • Integration test with equivocation and upgrade.

Test and SRE

  • Support the network and release.
  • NCTL: shutdown validator node during wasm deployment.

Ecosystem

  • Exchanges integration support.
  • GoLang SDK support
  • JS SDK: Implement CLValue json serialization.
  • Casper Signer UI/UX enhancements.
  • Casper course slides and recordings.

Economics Research

  • Formulate (and calculate) platform welfare measures.
  • Investigate joint uses of spot and forward markets.

Contract Runtime

  • Quantstamp audit remediation.
