Describe the solution you'd like

We should probably be adding a pre-release suffix to our version number.

E.g. 0.1.2-alpha

Please refer to the semver documentation.

This could be done with build configurations in Xcode.

add build configurations for alpha and beta

- use appropriate icon for each configuration (CodeEditApp#914)
- append dev, alpha, beta to version number for respective configurations (CodeEditApp#915)
