Replace error message box by output to stderr #20
Description
The current behavior to show a modal dialog box on fatal errors is extremely inconvenient for CI setups, which will, in absence of a user that dismisses the dialog box, simply hang indefinitely. Simply outputting the error message to stderr is just as visible and avoids this issue.
