User can access a page describing the project, who developed it, who maintains it and that it uses the city data but is in no way affiliated with the city
user will see a link from the main site to this new page
Project needs a short succinct sentence or two that explains who is driving it. We need to remove any implication the City of Kamloops is involved beyond simply providing access to the open data for two reasons: 1) users know who is collecting and storing their information and it is clear that it is not the city, 2) a poor service offering is associated with the project not with the City.
As soon as the city starts getting confused calls about how the notification on "their" app did not work this morning, or reports that some unknown group is taking personal information under the guise of being official city project, open data will dry up for us.
This disclosure or opt in, or ?? should have fuller text on a web page associated with the site, and a shorter version included in all notifications - linking the full version on the site.
Some googling may find some examples where open data has been used in other projects and this has been handled well.
