Fliss317/README.md

Hi! Welcome to my GitHub page! πŸ‘‹

A portrait photo of Fliss317 holding a miniature figure πŸ‘‰ Hi, my name is Fliss and I am a new entry to the world of tech, taking the plunge into code thanks to the School of Code Bootcamp. Since leaving the bootcamp I gained valuable real-world tech experience as a Junior Software Developer for Bravissimo. My previous background is in retail and other customer service positions and since becoming a software engineer I discovered that there is a suprising amount of crossover between tech and customer service. I have plenty of experience in quickly and seamlessly fitting into a variety of teams containing widely diverse members, working for a customer / end user. I'm used to working in fast paced industries and have experience in everything from management to McDonalds' front of house and door-to-door sales. In my time as a junior I've grown from strength to strength as a developer and I am looking forwards to bringing my skills and abilities from within and without the world of tech to my next role!

πŸ‘‰ I worked for Bravissimo's E-Commerce team as a Junior Software Developer, and used React, Express and Node, as well as Rethink.DB, Mongo.DB, and RabbitMQ. We worked closely with the Marketing, Product, and other IT teams to deliver effective solutions for the website stakeholders.

πŸ‘‰ During the School of Code I gained experience in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, React, Node.js, Next.js, Jest, Cypress, Express.js, PostgreSQL and TypeScript, and I am proud to call myself a full-stack web developer. When I can I dabble in C#.

🎲 In my spare time I am a huge nerd, with a love of science-fiction and fantasy that extends from books by authors such as Ursula Le Guin, Ann Leckie, and Xiran Jay Zhao, through comics, graphic novels, tabletop roleplaying and wargames, all the way to live action roleplaying.
