[ Upstream commit d518691 ] The driver uses __napi_schedule_irqoff() which is fine as long as it is invoked with disabled interrupts by everybody. Since the commit mentioned below the driver may invoke xgbe_isr_task() in tasklet/softirq context. This may lead to list corruption if another driver uses __napi_schedule_irqoff() in IRQ context. Use __napi_schedule() which safe to use from IRQ and softirq context. [ Upstream commit 4faab8c ] In the current hsr code, only 0 and 1 protocol versions are valid. But current hsr code doesn't check the version, which is received by userspace. Test commands: ip link add dummy0 type dummy ip link add dummy1 type dummy ip link add hsr0 type hsr slave1 dummy0 slave2 dummy1 version 4 In the test commands, version 4 is invalid. So, the command should be failed. After this patch, following error will occur. "Error: hsr: Only versions 0..1 are supported." [ Upstream commit 2abe052 ] Creation and management of L2TPv3 tunnels and session through netlink requires CAP_NET_ADMIN. However, a process with CAP_NET_ADMIN in a non-initial user namespace gets an EPERM due to the use of the genetlink GENL_ADMIN_PERM flag. Thus, management of L2TP VPNs inside an unprivileged container won't work. We replaced the GENL_ADMIN_PERM by the GENL_UNS_ADMIN_PERM flag similar to other network modules which also had this problem, e.g., openvswitch (commit 4a92602 "openvswitch: allow management from inside user namespaces") and nl80211 (commit 5617c6c "nl80211: Allow privileged operations from user namespaces"). I tested this in the container runtime trustm3 (trustm3.github.io) and was able to create l2tp tunnels and sessions in unpriviliged (user namespaced) containers using a private network namespace. For other runtimes such as docker or lxc this should work, too. Signed-off-by: Michael Weiß <michael.weiss@aisec.fraunhofer.de> Signed-off-by: David S. [ Upstream commit 03e2a98 ] The behaviour for what is considered an anycast address changed in commit 45e4fd2 ("ipv6: Only create RTF_CACHE routes after encountering pmtu exception"). This now considers the first address in a subnet where there is a route via a gateway to be an anycast address. This breaks path MTU discovery and traceroutes when a host in a remote network uses the address at the start of a prefix (eg 2600:: advertised as 2600::/48 in the DFZ) as ICMP errors will not be sent to anycast addresses. This patch excludes any routes with a gateway, or via point to point links, like the behaviour previously from rt6_is_gw_or_nonexthop in net/ipv6/route.c. This can be tested with: ip link add v1 type veth peer name v2 ip netns add test ip netns exec test ip link set lo up ip link set v2 netns test ip link set v1 up ip netns exec test ip link set v2 up ip addr add 2001:db8::1/64 dev v1 nodad ip addr add 2001:db8:100:: dev lo nodad ip netns exec test ip addr add 2001:db8::2/64 dev v2 nodad ip netns exec test ip route add unreachable 2001:db8:1::1 ip netns exec test ip route add 2001:db8:100::/64 via 2001:db8::1 ip netns exec test sysctl net.ipv6.conf.all.forwarding=1 ip route add 2001:db8:1::1 via 2001:db8::2 ping -I 2001:db8::1 2001:db8:1::1 -c1 ping -I 2001:db8:100:: 2001:db8:1::1 -c1 ip addr delete 2001:db8:100:: dev lo ip netns delete test Currently the first ping will get back a destination unreachable ICMP error, but the second will never get a response, with "icmp6_send: acast source" logged. commit 300b124 upstream. Commit 6dde1e4 ("ovl: make i_ino consistent with st_ino in more cases"), relaxed the condition nfs_export=on in order to set the value of i_ino to xino map of real ino. Specifically, it also relaxed the pre-condition that index=on for consistent i_ino. This opened the corner case of lower hardlink in ovl_get_inode(), which calls ovl_fill_inode() with ino=0 and then ovl_init_inode() is called to set i_ino to lower real ino without the xino mapping. Pass the correct values of ino;fsid in this case to ovl_fill_inode(), so it can initialize i_ino correctly. Fixes: 6dde1e4 ("ovl: make i_ino consistent with st_ino in more ...") commit c3b1064 upstream. Previously we could get the report of branch type statistics. It's a regression issue caused by commit 40c39e3 ("perf report: Fix a no annotate browser displayed issue"), which only counts the branch type statistics for browser mode. commit 9cc5f23 upstream. This driver allows pwms to be requested as gpios via gpiolib. Obviously, it should not be allowed to request a GPIO when its corresponding PWM is already requested (and vice versa). So it requires some exclusion code. Given that the PWMm and GPIO cores are not synchronized with respect to each other, this exclusion code will also require proper synchronization. Such a mechanism was in place, but was inadvertently removed by Uwe's clean-up in commit e926b12 ("pwm: Clear chip_data in pwm_put()"). Upon revisiting the synchronization mechanism, we found that theoretically, it could allow two threads to successfully request conflicting PWMs/GPIOs. Replace with a bitmap which tracks PWMs in-use, plus a mutex. As long as PWM and GPIO's respective request/free functions modify the in-use bitmap while holding the mutex, proper synchronization will be guaranteed. commit d0802dc upstream. Commit f949a12 ("net: dsa: bcm_sf2: fix buffer overflow doing set_rxnfc") tried to fix the some user controlled buffer overflows in bcm_sf2_cfp_rule_set() and bcm_sf2_cfp_rule_del() but the fix was using CFP_NUM_RULES, which while it is correct not to overflow the bitmaps, is not representative of what the device actually supports. Correct that by using bcm_sf2_cfp_rule_size() instead. The latter subtracts the number of rules by 1, so change the checks from greater than or equal to greater than accordingly. commit 3670664 upstream. ev_byte_channel_send() assumes that its third argument is a 16 byte array. Some places where it is called it may not be (or we can't easily tell if it is). Newer compilers have started producing warnings about this, so make sure we actually pass a 16 byte array. There may be more elegant solutions to this, but the driver is quite old and hasn't been updated in many years. commit 80c503e upstream. The __torture_print_stats() function in locktorture.c carefully initializes local variable "min" to statp[0].n_lock_acquired, but then compares it to statp[i].n_lock_fail. Given that the .n_lock_fail field should normally be zero, and given the initialization, it seems reasonable to display the maximum and minimum number acquisitions instead of miscomputing the maximum and minimum number of failures. This commit therefore switches from failures to acquisitions. And this turns out to be not only a day-zero bug, but entirely my own fault. I hate it when that happens! Instead, an internal buffer is allocated for getting the keys out from the read method first before copying them out to userspace without holding the lock. That requires taking out the __user modifier from all the relevant read methods as well as additional changes to not use any userspace write helpers. That is, 1) The put_user() call is replaced by a direct copy. 2) The copy_to_user() call is replaced by memcpy(). 3) All the fault handling code is removed. Compiling on a x86-64 system, the size of the rxrpc_read() function is reduced from 3795 bytes to 2384 bytes with this patch. [ no upstream commit ] See the glory details in 1006050 ("bpf: Verifier, do_refine_retval_range may clamp umin to 0 incorrectly") for why 849fa50 ("bpf/verifier: refine retval R0 state for bpf_get_stack helper") is buggy. The whole series however is not suitable for stable since it adds significant amount [0] of verifier complexity in order to add 32bit subreg tracking. Something simpler is needed. Unfortunately, reverting 849fa50 ("bpf/verifier: refine retval R0 state for bpf_get_stack helper") or just cherry-picking 1006050 ("bpf: Verifier, do_refine_retval_range may clamp umin to 0 incorrectly") is not an option since it will break existing tracing programs badly (at least those that are using bpf_get_stack() and bpf_probe_read_str() helpers). Not fixing it in stable is also not an option since on 4.19 kernels an error will cause a soft-lockup due to hitting dead-code sanitized branch since we don't hard-wire such branches in old kernels yet. But even then for 5.x 849fa50 ("bpf/verifier: refine retval R0 state for bpf_get_stack helper") would cause wrong bounds on the verifier simluation when an error is hit. In one of the earlier iterations of mentioned patch series for upstream there was the concern that just using smax_value in do_refine_retval_range() would nuke bounds by subsequent <<32 >>32 shifts before the comparison against 0 [1] which eventually led to the 32bit subreg tracking in the first place. While I initially went for implementing the idea [1] to pattern match the two shift operations, it turned out to be more complex than actually needed, meaning, we could simply treat do_refine_retval_range() similarly to how we branch off verification for conditionals or under speculation, that is, pushing a new reg state to the stack for later verification. This means, instead of verifying the current path with the ret_reg in [S32MIN, msize_max_value] interval where later bounds would get nuked, we split this into two: i) for the success case where ret_reg can be in [0, msize_max_value], and ii) for the error case with ret_reg known to be in interval [S32MIN, -1]. Latter will preserve the bounds during these shift patterns and can match reg < 0 test. test_progs also succeed with this approach. This is to be expected bpf_get_stack call can only return a max of the input size but is free to return any negative error in the 32-bit register space. The C helper is returning an int so will use lower 32-bits. Lines 17 and 18 clear the top 32 bits with a left/right shift but use ARSH so we still have worst case min bound before line 19 of -2147483648. At this point the signed check 'r1 s< r8' meant to protect the addition on line 22 where dst reg is a map_value pointer may very well return true with a large negative number. Then the final line 22 will detect this as an invalid operation and fail the program. What we want to do is proceed only if r8 is positive non-error. So change 'r1 s< r8' to 'r1 s> r8' so that we jump if r8 is negative. Next we will throw an error because we access past the end of the map value. The map value size is 48 and sizeof(struct test_val) is 48 so we walk off the end of the map value on the second call to get bpf_get_stack(). Fix this by changing sizeof(struct test_val) to 24 by using 'sizeof(struct test_val) / 2'. After this everything passes as expected. commit d2db08c upstream. Before this series the verifier would clamp return bounds of bpf_get_stack() to [0, X] and this led the verifier to believe that a JMP_JSLT 0 would be false and so would prune that path. The result is anything hidden behind that JSLT would be unverified. Add a test to catch this case by hiding an goto pc-1 behind the check which will cause an infinite loop if not rejected. If the socket is provided by the userspace, the connection status of the tunnel sockets can change between the tunnel creation and the xmit call, so that syzbot is able to trigger the following splat: BUG: KASAN: use-after-free in ip6_dst_idev include/net/ip6_fib.h:192 [inline] BUG: KASAN: use-after-free in ip6_xmit+0x1f76/0x2260 net/ipv6/ip6_output.c:264 Read of size 8 at addr ffff8801bd949318 by task syz-executor4/23448 CPU: 0 PID: 23448 Comm: syz-executor4 Not tainted 4.16.0-rc4+ Freescale#65 Hardware name: Google Google Compute Engine/Google Compute Engine, BIOS Google 01/01/2011 Call Trace: __dump_stack lib/dump_stack.c:17 [inline] dump_stack+0x194/0x24d lib/dump_stack.c:53 print_address_description+0x73/0x250 mm/kasan/report.c:256 kasan_report_error mm/kasan/report.c:354 [inline] kasan_report+0x23c/0x360 mm/kasan/report.c:412 __asan_report_load8_noabort+0x14/0x20 mm/kasan/report.c:433 ip6_dst_idev include/net/ip6_fib.h:192 [inline] ip6_xmit+0x1f76/0x2260 net/ipv6/ip6_output.c:264 inet6_csk_xmit+0x2fc/0x580 net/ipv6/inet6_connection_sock.c:139 l2tp_xmit_core net/l2tp/l2tp_core.c:1053 [inline] l2tp_xmit_skb+0x105f/0x1410 net/l2tp/l2tp_core.c:1148 pppol2tp_sendmsg+0x470/0x670 net/l2tp/l2tp_ppp.c:341 sock_sendmsg_nosec net/socket.c:630 [inline] sock_sendmsg+0xca/0x110 net/socket.c:640 ___sys_sendmsg+0x767/0x8b0 net/socket.c:2046 __sys_sendmsg+0xe5/0x210 net/socket.c:2080 SYSC_sendmsg net/socket.c:2091 [inline] SyS_sendmsg+0x2d/0x50 net/socket.c:2087 do_syscall_64+0x281/0x940 arch/x86/entry/common.c:287 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x42/0xb7 RIP: 0033:0x453e69 RSP: 002b:00007f819593cc68 EFLAGS: 00000246 ORIG_RAX: 000000000000002e RAX: ffffffffffffffda RBX: 00007f819593d6d4 RCX: 0000000000453e69 RDX: 0000000000000081 RSI: 000000002037ffc8 RDI: 0000000000000004 RBP: 000000000072bea0 R08: 0000000000000000 R09: 0000000000000000 R10: 0000000000000000 R11: 0000000000000246 R12: 00000000ffffffff R13: 00000000000004c3 R14: 00000000006f72e8 R15: 0000000000000000 This change addresses the issues: * explicitly checking for TCP_ESTABLISHED for user space provided sockets * dropping the v4mapped flag usage - it can become outdated - and explicitly invoking ipv6_addr_v4mapped() instead The issue is apparently there since ancient times. v1 -> v2: (many thanks to Guillaume) - with csum issue introduced in v1 - replace pr_err with pr_debug - fix build issue with IPV6 disabled - move l2tp_sk_is_v4mapped in l2tp_core.c v2 -> v3: - don't update inet_daddr for v4mapped address, unneeded - drop rendundant check at creation time Reported-and-tested-by: syzbot+92fa328176eb07e4ac1a@syzkaller.appspotmail.com Fixes: 3557baa ("[L2TP]: PPP over L2TP driver core") Signed-off-by: Paolo Abeni <pabeni@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: David S.
