Having the same problem with Ubuntu 20.04.1, my version is pretty similar:

Fix for search not working with vte 0.6+ (issue #1752)
The fix is finally merged, closing. |

Describe the bug
I' m using Ubuntu 20.04
The search feature does not work
In both versions 3.6.3 & 3.7.0
Expected behavior
Search in Terminal
Actual behavior
After calling CTRL+SHIFT+F, and typing the words in the search field nothing happens!
It does not give any search results
$ guake --support
