sshpass is a tool for non-interactively performing password authentication with SSH's so called "interactive keyboard password authentication". Most user should use SSH's more secure public key authentication instead.

Should we be rejecting things that are against security best practices? that that the role of homebrew? |

We support external taps exactly for this purpose, for people to be able to distribute software via Homebrew that we don't want to put into core for whatever reason. |
