This wiki page holds feedback from users for v1.0.0 - RC.1

User #1 Design / Developer

Site feedback:

  1. The left bar should be position fixed. Currently orientation of navigating content is a bit confusing.
  2. little animated interactions are nice

Feedback on Content:

  1. For Principles section, I’d like to see more about the “why” we should follow these principles. For Introduce Cognitive, it could be something like “Most users of Watson don’t know anything about machine learning and complex computer science. In any Watson project, there needs to be an experience for how users can Learn and Understand our technology”.
  2. I think the names of these principles could resonate better. Currently they’re pretty ambiguous at first glance. Introduce Cognitive could be “Design for Learning Curves”. Personally I hate Cognitive. Until we get a clear definition, I don’t want to hear that word ever because it offers nothing but ambiguity in our design decisions.
  3. The grids are great.
  4. The UI Patterns section is very dev-centric. I was expecting visuals or video examples demonstrating UI patterns, not just the implementation.

Overall feedback:

  1. The content overall only tells you, “do it like this” but what I want to know “why”. I want to be educated on why you should pick colors in certain arrangements, and what is the reasoning behind the principles.
  2. I want to know what certain arrangements are good/bad for and why. The grids section did a pretty good job of this and would like to go even more detail.
