Airbnb, Inc is an American company that operates an online marketplace for lodging, primarily home like stays for vacation rentals and tourism activities. The company was founded in 2008 and have made their global footprint in a ‘very short period of time’.

Source: The original dataset can be found in Airbnb Inside http://insideairbnb.com/explore/ The dataset used for this project was retrieved from Kaggle, an open repository for datasets and arguably the most popular source of datasets.
Collection Method: The Company depends on partners as well as collaborators in gathering vital and necessary data. Skills employed in making this achievable include technological, journalistic as well as data housing knowledge. Due to the intent and purpose of the data, the data could be classified as administrative.
Content: It is restrictive to locations in New York City. It contains the pricing, review ratings, number of rooms per given apartment as well as the construction year of the apartment.
Possible Limitations: While his may have been obtained from multiple sources, the human error element involved in gathering, collating, computing, inputting of data cannot be overlooked.
Relevance of Data Set vs. Project Objective/Hypothesis The data set will be used to draw up insights for the general public. It could also come in handy for tourists and visitors in search of accommodation. Such periods include short term, medium term or even a mid-long term stay spanning months.
