JabRef version

5.6 (latest release)

Operating system

Windows

Details on version and operating system

Windows 10

Checked with the latest development build

  • I made a backup of my libraries before testing the latest development version.
  • I have tested the latest development version and the problem persists

Steps to reproduce the behaviour

  1. Add an entry to an existing library (via DOI, but might also happen through other ways)
  2. Hit Ctrl + Z
  3. The action is not undone (notification nothing to undo)

Actually, it seems like the action gets undone in the background, but the GUI does not show that.

Also, when saving the file after step 1, the file seems to get reverted on disk when trying to undo the action. (This might not be true, didn't reproduce this behavior.)

How did you know that it gets undone in the background but the GUI does not show that?

Part of the GUI does show it. After adding the entry, the tab of the .bib file shows a star (indicating there has been a change that is not yet saved). After hitting Ctrl + Z, the star disappears. Also, I can close JabRef without it asking me whether I want to save changes.
