I am fully aware that TheiaIDE is not officially supported by LaTex Workshop as per FAQ. Some people and I took the risk and get it run pretty well in latest TheiaIDE and LaTex Workshop. We encountered some issues and reported it to TheiaIDE developer. In their investigation, they found some issues which I would like to highlight to LaTeX Workshop team -> eclipse-theia/theia#13522 (comment). Not sure how true is this, but I leave that to you. I just hope this powerful \LaTeX editor to be continuously improved.
