@tamuratak @James-Yu

I'll keep this short. I have the 5.12.1 update; In the changelog I see "Added: (#865) Hover on LaTeX for math preview.", however, I can't seem to get it working.

demo

Edit: Also, I think you mean #856.

Make sure you have a viewer opened in vscode. This is restricted by vscode and is currently a won't fix.

Aaaahhh, forgot about that reliance on webRender, thanks / sorry for bothering you.
Also, an addendum: you may want to change the issue number referenced in the changelog - see my edit.

Apologies for re-opening the thread but preview on hover doesn't work on my windows laptop. I have the pdf rendered in VS code's own viewer in a tab next to the tex, but when I hover on an equation or on a citation nothing happen. On my mac, instead, with the same setup I can see previews without any issue.

Both computers are running the latest version of VS code and of the plugin.

Thanks for your help

Please make a new issue. And show us log messages. Show us the exact versions of VSCode, LaTeX workshop, and OS. The word latest is NOT helpful.
