PGP pubkey key thread #773
Comments
We were also planning to apply for the CoinJoin bounty with HiddenWallet/ZeroLink stack. Our plan is/was? to let our project mature first, then create a shared application with JoinMarket and CoinShuffle creators, since these are the main CoinJoin directions/projects in active development. Let me know what you think. |

@nopara73 I think it's easier to discuss this in a chat. I think IRC should work for most of us. (And also, this issue is a very weird place to discuss. ;)) Can you organize a meeting or set up a doodle? |
@real-or-random Ahh, yes you are missing the context. This issue has been emailed to every JoinMarket contributor, to whoever would like to claim their part from the bounty, so I thought it's a good idea to comment here, since it guarantees that, nobody will miss out the conversation. I'm not sure it's a good idea to go to private chat, full transparency is a better practice as the default when donations are being discussed. I'm not against private discussion though, I don't think there'd be any public outrage or anything that kind, it's just I'd prefer not risking it. @chris-belcher @AdamISZ what do you think? |
Ah I see! Yes, then this issue makes sense, of course. My concern was not secrecy but "simplicity". Transparency is a good idea obviously. |
The email/PM i sent out is only for the part of the coinjoin bounty that joinmarket-so-far gets. Other parts of the coinjoin bounty will likely be left in the multisig address for projects which haven't matured yet. |
If you are not intending to claim the whole bounty that's fine by us not claiming it until our project rolled out and used on the mainnet. |
I can't speak for my co-authors but I currently don't plan to apply. This is a complex issue:
It's not clear to me that applications are appropriate at all. The organizers are aware of all the major projects, they can act without explicit applications. Furthermore, it's not clear to me how important an implementation is and there's no real implementation of CoinShuffle currently.
Another issue is that it is not necessarily a good idea to ask for money. I've done this work as a state employee. Besides the moral issues (donating the money could solve this), it may be illegal for me to ask for it, or receive it without seeking permission first.

I'd propose you applying for 1/3 of it and if the active development of
other CoinJoin projects stop before they are rolled out then you may
apply for the rest of it. @real-or-random @chris-belcher Does it sound
fair?
