I think these functions are a bit silly. It is confusing to have both NaN and nan exported, and now that you can write T(Inf) it is not that useful to have inf(T).

Nooo, I deprecated the form of oftype that's exactly equivalent to convert. Now oftype always means convert(typeof(x),y).
