KAM Items
On this page, we will describe each item. We will be using the patient and medic as a reference to describe involved units.
The patient is the targeted unit that is receiving the treatment. Medic is the unit that is giving the treatment to another unit or himself(If it is possible. Some items do not allow self-treatment).
All the items will be described using default addon options, but sometimes we will mention other possibilities and conditions if present.
Is an airway item that is used to support airways. It clears airway obstructions, but occlusions can still happen. It is a one-time use item. Also, you can set in addon options how much time the interaction will take.
In order to use it, the patient has to be unconscious. The patient cannot have occlusion, so you have to clear it before using it. If the guedel tube is inserted and the patient awakes, it will be removed. Also, you can adjust in addon options which medical level is required for the medic in order to use it. The default setting allows everyone to use it.
Head -> Airway management tab -> Use Guedel Tube.
Is an airway item that is used to save airways completely. Once inserted, it clears obstructions and prevents occlusions from happening. It is a one-time use item. Also, you can set in addon options how much time the interaction will take.
In order to use it, the patient has to be unconscious. The patient cannot have occlusion, so you have to clear it before using it. If the KingLT tube is inserted and the patient awakes, it will be removed. Also, you can adjust in addon options which medical level is required for the medic in order to use it. The default setting allows everyone to use it.
Head -> Airway management tab -> Use KingLT.
Is an item used for cleaning airway. Once used, it removes occlusion with 100% chance. There are no limits in terms of how many times you can use it - the item does not get consumed. Also, you can set in addon options how much time the interaction will take.
In order to use it, the patient has to be unconscious. Also, you can adjust in addon options which medical level is required for the medic in order to use it. The default setting allows everyone to use it.
Head -> Airway management tab -> Use Accuvac.
Is an item used to treat tension pneumothorax and hemopneumothorax. It is a one-time use item. Also, you can set in addon options how much time the interaction will take.
The only condition is the medical level required for the medic in order to use. The default setting allows everyone to use it, but you can adjust it in addon options.
Depending on which injury you want to treat:
Torso -> Airway management tab -> Needle Decompression.
Torso -> Airway management tab -> Drain Fluid.
Is an item used to treat pneumothorax, tension pneumothorax and hemopneumothorax. It is a one-time use item. Also, you can set in addon options how much time the interaction will take.
The only condition is the medical level required for the medic in order to use. The default setting allows everyone to use it, but you can adjust it in addon options.
Torso -> Airway managemenet tab -> Use Chest Seal.
Is an item used to measure the HR(Heart rate) and SpO2(Oxygen saturation) of the patient. There are no limits in terms of how many times you can use it - the item does not get consumed, but when used, it gets removed from the medic and virtually attached to the patient until it is manually removed. Also, you can set in addon options how much time the interaction will take.
Patient cannot have already an active Pulse oximeter attached. Also the medical level required for the medic in order to use. The default setting allows everyone to use it, but you can adjust it in addon options.
Arm/Leg -> Examination tab -> Attach Pulse Oximeter.
Is an item that allows you to auscultate lung sounds, meaning you can determine if the patient has pneumothorax or some variant of it. When a patient has a pneumothorax, you can either hear short breaths or no breaths at all. If the patient has tension pneumothorax, sounds can be exactly the same(In the current state - will be updated in the future), so in order to diagnose it, you first have to treat the patient with a chest seal and then listen again to hear the sound. If the patient has hemopneumothorax, you can hear very different sounds, usually, like he would have some fluid inside, sorta rattle sound. The stethoscope works independently on whether or not hardcore modes are enabled.
None.
Torso -> Airway management tab -> Auscultate Lung Sounds.
Is an item that can be used on the patient's torso and give him a "shock" in order to give him HR. We know that this is not a realistic approach, but rather "gameplay mechanics" so stay calm and enjoy the game. Other than giving a "shock", AED cannot do anything else. There are no limits in terms of how many times you can use it - the item does not get consumed. Also, you can set in addon options how much time the interaction will take and what is the success chance of the "shock".
In order to use it, the patient has to be unconscious and cannot be actively CPRed. Also, you can adjust in addon options which medical level is required for the medic in order to use it. The default setting allows everyone to use it.
Torso -> Advanced treatment tab -> Use AED.
AED-X is a better version of AED and it does what AED does + it can monitor HR(Heart rate), SpO2(Oxygen saturation), and BP(Blood pressure). You can connect it to the patient and it will make a beeping sound(which you can turn off via ace interaction or in addon options). It will be connected to that patient, so if he moves away too far from the medic, it will get disconnected. There are no limits in terms of how many times you can use it - the item does not get consumed, but when used, it gets removed from the medic and virtually attached to the patient until it is removed. Also, you can set in addon options how much time the interaction will take and what is the success chance of the "shock".
The patient cannot have already an active AED-X attached. As for the "shock", the patient cannot be actively CPRed. Also, you can adjust in addon options which medical level is required for the medic in order to use it. The default setting allows everyone to use it.
Depending on which action you want to use:
Torso -> Advanced treatment tab -> Attach monitor.
Torso -> Advanced treatment tab -> Use AED-X.
Is an item that allows you to draw blood from the patient. It will give you the blood from the same blood group as the patient.
Medic has to have enough space in their inventory. The patient has to have enough blood volume - 3.6 liters is set in default. You can adjust this value in addon options.
Arm/Leg -> Advanced treatment tab -> Draw Blood (250/500ml).
Is a group of items containing blood groups as you might know from real life. Each blood group has different compatibility with other groups and mistreatment can lead to blood poisoning which can be treated by Painkillers(Tylenol). You can take a look at this cheat sheet to see which blood group is compatible with which one.
Same as normal ACE Blood. You can set in addon options whether or not you want to require inserted IV/IO in order to use it, but in the default setting it is not required.
Same as normal ACE Blood.
Nice cheat sheet to help you see which blood group is compatible with which one. Here is also the picture of how it looks like in-game:
None.
ACE interaction to yourself -> Open blood groups cheat sheet
Are primarily used to suppress pain. Each item has 10 uses. Secondary use is to treat blood poisoning.
None.
Head -> Advanced treatment tab -> Take Painkillers.
Useful tool how to transport patients. You can find backpack containing stretcher in arsenal. Also you can spawn stretcher in editor or Zeus - both will work.
None.
Deploy it via context menu and then use it via ACE interactions.
Useful tool how to transport patients. You can find helistretcher in arsenal. Also you can spawn stretcher in editor or Zeus - both will work.
None.
you have to look at the helicopter and be within close proximity. Afterwards open up your inventory and double-click on the Helistretcher item and then click on "Attach Helistretcher", which will attach it onto the helicopter. You can use it as "normal" stretcher. Stretcher can be used for lifting people up and moving them into the helicopter seat, rope length can be adjusted as well. Right now, interactions for rope controls are only displayed for the person that attached the stretcher, so I advise that pilots attach the stretcher beforehand in order to properly use it - hopefully we will "fix" it in the future update.
Allows you to give patients infusions from the stand.
None.
Deploy it via context menu and then use it via ACE interactions.
Commonly sold in the US as "Narcan". Used to treat morphine overdose. One unit of naloxone undoes the affects of one unit of morphine. So if someone took one morphine over the lethal limit, then only one unit of naloxone is needed. If someone took two units of morphine over the lethal limit, then they will need two units of naloxone, etc.
None.
Head -> Medication -> Use Naloxone.
Smelling salts are used to revive a patient from unconsciousness. If used, instantly runs a wakeup check if the patient's HR is high enough. Can be disabled in settings for units that want a more realistic medical experience.
The patient has to be unconscious and his HR has to be stable.
Head -> Medication -> Use Ammonium Carbonate.
Allows you to administer intravenous medication and fluid to patients. In default settings, it is a single-use item, but you can set whether or not IV needles are reusable, whether or not they will fall out on their own, and if so, how long. You can set the time to establish an IV line in settings.
Requires the limb in question to be relatively undamaged. If it is a deep yellow or deep blue, it is too damaged to run an IV line too. Also, you can adjust in addon options which medical level is required for the medic in order to use it. The default setting allows everyone to use it.
Limb -> Advanced treatment tab -> Estabilish IV.
Allows you to administer intravenous medication and fluid to patients. In default settings, it is a single-use item, but you can set whether or not IO needles are reusable, whether or not they will fall out on their own, and if so, how long. However, it causes extreme pain when applied, so it is advised that you only use it as a last resort alternative to an IV. You can set the time to establish an IO line in settings.
You can adjust in addon options which medical level is required for the medic in order to use it. The default setting allows everyone to use it.
Torso -> Advanced treatment tab -> Estabilish IO.
Powerful anti-arrhythmic used to increase the success chance of defibrillation. Only increases the chance in patients with shockable rhythms(i.e. V-fib/PVT), will have no effect on patients with asystolic heart rhythms. It is the most powerful anti-arrhythmic in the game, however, it has the downside of having a roughly 1 in 3 chance of giving a patient post-arrest bradycardia. As such, it is not recommended that you give patients more than one dose of amiodarone.
The patient and the targeted Limb/Torso has to have IV/IO inserted. You can adjust in addon options which medical level is required for the medic in order to use it. The default setting allows everyone to use it.
Limb/Torso with IV/IO inserted -> Medication tab -> Push Amiodarone.
While commonly used in real life as an anesthetic, in KAT Lidocaine is used for the other role it commonly takes in real life, an anti-arrhythmic. It is not as powerful as amiodarone, however, it also has a lessened chance of giving a patient post-arrest bradycardia. As such, it is recommended that you give this to patients when amiodarone proves to not be enough.
The patient and the targeted Limb/Torso has to have IV/IO inserted. You can adjust in addon options which medical level is required for the medic in order to use it. The default setting allows everyone to use it.
Limb/Torso with IV/IO inserted -> Medication tab -> Push Lidocaine.
Used to treat post-arrest bradycardia. Only removes the bradycardia, has no other effect on the body (yet).
The patient and the targeted Limb/Torso has to have IV/IO inserted. You can adjust in addon options which medical level is required for the medic in order to use it. The default setting allows everyone to use it.
Limb/Torso with IV/IO inserted -> Medication tab -> Push Atropine.
Vasodilator. Decreases the patient's blood pressure.
The patient and the targeted Limb/Torso has to have IV/IO inserted. You can adjust in addon options which medical level is required for the medic in order to use it. The default setting allows everyone to use it.
Limb/Torso with IV/IO inserted -> Medication tab -> Push Nitroglycerine.
Vasoconstrictor. Increases the patient's blood pressure slightly.
The patient and the targeted Limb/Torso has to have IV/IO inserted. You can adjust in addon options which medical level is required for the medic in order to use it. The default setting allows everyone to use it.
Limb/Torso with IV/IO inserted -> Medication tab -> Push Norepinephrine.
Powerful vasoconstrictor. Increases the patient's blood pressure more than norepinephrine. Has a side effect of causing reflexive bradycardia, where the patient's heart rate will decrease for several minutes after administration.
The patient and the targeted Limb/Torso has to have IV/IO inserted. You can adjust in addon options which medical level is required for the medic in order to use it. The default setting allows everyone to use it.
Limb/Torso with IV/IO inserted -> Medication tab -> Push Phenylephrine.
Powerful antifibrinolytic designed to help prevent the breakdown of clots and promote clotting. Clots wounds automatically for several minutes after administration. Administering more than three units within a ten-minute time frame will cause an overdose. Able to be disabled from the menu for units that feel it's unbalanced/want a more realistic experience.
The patient and the targeted Limb/Torso has to have IV/IO inserted. You can adjust in addon options which medical level is required for the medic in order to use it. The default setting allows everyone to use it.
Limb/Torso with IV/IO inserted -> Medication tab -> Push Tranexamic Acid (TXA).
