Available Overlays
Discover Killer supports custom overlays, allowing you to replace the 'stock' Google Discover overlay with one of your own choice. Below are a list of known supported overlays, please open an issue or a PR if you know of more.
This is an official Google app, designed for tablets. It displays TV shows, movies, games, music and books available from supported 'providers'. The provider list is similar to those that are available on the homescreen of Google TVs, such as Amazon Prime Video, Plex, All4, ITV Hub, YouTube and Paramount+
Since Entertainment Space is only available for selected tablets, there are two options for installing it:
- Download and install the APK from this XDA attachment. This will not get you updates.
- Install the Magisk module from this XDA attachment, then after rebooting download and install the APK in option 1 on top. This will allow you to get updates from Google Play.
Note: Discover Killer contains an Xposed module which improves the usability of Entertainment Space on a phone, including fixing padding and sizing of some screens. Enable it in LSposed and reboot for it to take effect.
This is built into Discover Killer, it allows you to add a single RSS feed whose items will be shown in a simple list with images and text. You can also specify an image or title for the feed. For example, this image will show the BBC News logo.
HomeFeeder is the only known third-party overlay. It has its own plugin system for showing items in a list, currently only RSS is supported. The release Telegram channel for HomeFeeder is currently down, but you can get builds of the HomeFeeder app and RSS plugin from XDA.
