First off some disclaimers: This theme was designed and written by a professional graphic designer and front-end developer. The themes defaults are sane in many ways and set with care to provide a flawless yet visually appealing login experience even on low end equipment. By customizing the theme you can possibly alter this experience to be less smooth or less appealing to others than yourself. Be aware of this.
All customizations are made by changing the values of pre-written variables inside a file named theme.conf
which is located in the top level directory of the theme.
The fastest way to do so after installation would be from the command line:
$ sudo nano /usr/share/sddm/themes/sugar-light/theme.conf
Wrap string
values in double quotes "my awesome-string"
and make sure not to delete any boolean value from the configuration file to ensure proper functionality.
This Wiki consists of detailed explanations for every variable found in the theme.config
of Sugar Light. You can select one of the following links, which appear in order as they do in the file, to jump directly to its definition or browse the categories in the side bar to the right of this article.
