HTML Constructor is a Google Chrome extension to open chosen HTML and CSS snippets from visited GitHub webpages in a popup window, edit them, merge, and run the final code in a new window.
Installing unpacked extension is super easy.
- Clone or download the source code here
- Go to: chrome://extensions
- Check "Developer Mode"
- Click "Load unpacked extension..." and select the location of HTML Constructor
- Enjoy!
- To save the code snippet from currently opened webpage, press Alt+Shift+P
- Click the extension icon and you will see all the buffered snippets on the left side of popup window
- Double-click one of those boxes and it disappears
- Click it once and, after pressing one of those "ready to run" boxes at the top of the page, you will notice that snippet is now ready to run
- Put you mouse over one of the boxes containing buffered snippets and the code will appear in the editing field
- Edit the code and press "Save"
- "Preview" button merge all the "ready to run" snippets together and show the result in the editing field
- If the merge is satisfied, run the HTML code in a new window by pressing "Run" button
