Yes I prefer to have a clear file ending and it is in fact a simple text file. On GitHub when using the "add" license button on the community profile page (https://github.com/MichaIng/DietPi/community) it creates it without file ending, but not my preference actually 😉.

Yes added it together with this new setting. Good practice to have the full license text in place IMO, even the readme ways:

You should have received a copy of the GNU General Public License along with this program.

But that was never the case 😄.
