Welcome to the bumblebee installation v.1.4.31
Licensed under Red Bull, BEER-WARE License and GPL

This will enable you to utilize both your Intel and nVidia card

Please note that this script will probably only work with Ubuntu, Debian, OpenSuSE and Fedora Based machines
and has (by me) only been tested on Ubuntu Natty 11.04 and Fedora 14 but should work on others as well

Are you sure you want to proceed?? (Y/N)

The Image Transport is how the images are transferred from the
nVidia card to the Intel card, people has different experiences of
performance, but just select the default if you are in doubt.

I recently found out that yuv and jpeg both has some lagging
this is only noticable in fast moving games, such as 1st person
shooters and for me, its only good enough with xv, even though
xv sets down performance a little bit.

  2. JPEG

This is a clean install of ubuntu 11.04.

the only thing i have performed is a sudo apt-get update and a sudo apt-get upgrade.

and then the git clone bumblebee project.

Even with a clean install and no updates, i get the same issues.

Some basic commands seem to be missing, wc is part of coreutils so it should be there on a fresh install. Anyway, try this...

sudo -i
mkdir -p /usr/local/bin
cd /home/YOUR_NORMAL_USER_ID
./install.sh

Perhaps your $PATH variable is messed up when you use sudo (as root, type which wc).

Just for help... I have the same laptop (DELL m14x) and tried to boot using the Ubuntu Desktop live CD 11.04. But my I do not see anything in my screen except a vertical band which separate 2 black and light grey sections.

How did you managed to start the live CD ? I also have an intell and nvidia card.

Thank you !

What i did, is i booted in rescue mode, and removed

sudo apt-get remove --purge xserver-xorg-video-intel also helped, since i
still got the issue even with the power adapter unplugged or plugged.

right now i can boot and reboot both and still have access to linux.

or boot in rescue mode and do the following

Yes that is what I tried but it seems the PPA does not contain any 2.6.39 kernel. I think I'll have to install the next ubuntu version.
