Description

Two points of feedback gathered on the analysis page have to do with scientists wanting more information about a certain dataset. These are pasted below. While we don't have to strictly adhere to exactly what they are requesting, these are good suggestions for giving scientists additional information to aid in their analysis. As always, we should be mindful of feasibility/implementation costs when choosing the best way to address this feedback.

Acceptance Criteria

  1. Given I am a scientist visiting the analysis page in the dashboard, when I view the chart for a selected dataset then I see the median available that describe the overall distribution of the data
  2. Given I am a scientist visiting the analysis page in the dashboard, when I view the charts for my selected datasets then I am able to access some contextual information about that dataset

Feedback

Pasted from #318

  • Extra stats would be nice to have
    💬 (1) median, (2) percentiles (5%, 25%, 75%, 95%), (3) linear fit
  • Scientists are used to have quick access to more info about the datasets.
💬 Whenever a dataset is mentioned (Chart, dataset selection on analysis define), there should be a way to quickly get info about it - info like the sensor, the data interval, the source (there will be different data for different datasets.)

Implementation Notes

  1. We will focus on median first, and work with data services to add more statistics to the statistics endpoint
  2. Using the existing info icon on charts in the analysis page to open popover including dataset description and link to dataset overview page to address second AC
