Coupled runs 37 and 40. New enthalpy formulation #383

W.Pac SSTs in the runs: This is just a replication of Thomas' plots. The hypothesis is that the W.Pac cooling is instigating labsea freeze through teleconnections. The 37 and 40 runs are noticeably a lot warmer in W.Pac, and no sign of labsea freezing yet. Here's the same plot but extended to year 215 so that all over 26g is shown. There is local minimum of W.Pac cooling when 26g starts to freeze over, similar to run 35 (although there are cooler local min's earlier in the sim that don't freeze labsea; it's possible that I'm looking at to narrow a region of W.Pac for informing teleconnections). @cecilehannay two questions:
I'll be adding two more run-requests to test a parameter in the ice cloud fraction. I'll be requesting 38 as a baseline. I'd like to use 38 as a baseline for future enthalpy flux experiments too, but we can talk about this in-person tmrw. |
